Dine 'n Dash - Virtual Reality

Artist Statement 

Dine n’ Dash is a food-themed digital world to be experienced in first person through virtual reality. My longtime interest in video games was ultimately the driving force that brought me into the world of digital art, which led me to creating this game. I wanted to use this project as a chance to explore and move beyond what I already knew as far as 3D modeling and game development, and discover new techniques while creating something entertaining in the process. A platforming and puzzle game was the perfect choice for my goal, as I felt this would allow me to implement trials that would propose a small challenge to the player, yet stay fairly intuitive to anyone who picks up the game. I enjoy working with themes of fantasy, and chose to use bright colors in this project to emphasize the cartoonish nature of the food-themed world that the player experiences. By creating a game in first person perspective, I aimed to emphasize the immersive feeling of the game, so that the player feels like they have truly become a part of the fantasy world I have created.
